Once we've received, reviewed and approved your application, our franchise development department will begin evaluating your proposed market area by conducting further interviews, and perhaps an on-site evaluation of the market as well.
Financing Options
Securing favorable financing for your TacoTime restaurant is the next step in the opening process. Kahala Corp does not offer any direct or indirect financing arrangements, however, we have developed relationships with various finance organizations who are familiar with the TacoTime franchise system, and understand your unique franchise financing needs. We make these contacts available to you and will gladly provide any non-confidential information about TacoTime/Kahala Corp that you may require to obtain financing through other sources.
Design & Development
Kahala’s Design and Construction Department has developed modern prototype restaurant designs that are unique to the TacoTime brand. These facility designs incorporate over 40 years of construction and operations experience, providing you with a cost-effective restaurant facility that will please your guests and service you for the life of your franchise. Kahala will provide you with complete specifications for equipment, signage and décor, plus a source list of available vendors who are ready and willing to meet your needs. If you are contemplating converting or remodeling an existing facility to be a TacoTime restaurant or are interested in developing a TacoTime oulet in a non-traditional setting, our Design and Construction Department is available to assist you in those custom projects.
Staff Training
The one-week Management Training Program, conducted by our training department at the Kahala Corporate office in Scottsdale, AZ,. You, the Franchisee, must complete and pass this training program in order to be certified. You will not be charged additionally for this training, but you will be responsible for your transportation, food and lodging expenses.
Marketing Program
Once your restaurant is open, the TacoTime National Advertising Fund Inc. (NAF) will help grow your business with national promotions, new product rollouts, local store marketing, merchandising, kid's program and much, much more. To remain on top of today's rapidly changing QSR landscape, the NAF monitors the changing market dynamics through ongoing research in the primary TacoTime ADI markets nationwide. This research drives strategic positioning in terms of both promotions and image and helps establish future directions. At the restaurant level, the NAF offers an integrated approach to effective marketing at the ADI, as well as local level. With a wealth of local marketing tools, the extent to which a restaurant operator becomes involved with marketing within his or her individual community is almost unlimited.
Reasearch & Development
As the taste quality leader in the Mexican QSR industry, research and development plays an especially important role for the TacoTime system. The R&D staff work hand in hand with the marketing and operations departments in developing new products. Before a new offering ever gets introduced to our guests it must first pass an exacting review to ensure that it compliments the quality of our existing menu. As a TacoTime restaurant owner, you can be assured that the zealous manner in which R&D develops new products will be aptly reflected in the appreciation of your dining guests. R&D also devotes much of its time in finding ways to streamline and improve operational efficiency. Minimizing training requirements and reducing operational overhead is the cornerstone of successful operations in today's QSR industry.
What's Next?
After all the preliminary steps have been completed, you are ready to start the final countdown toward opening. The entire process takes an average of six to ten months to complete under normal circumstances. Kahala representatives will arrive prior to your opening to assist you in coordinating the startup of your new business. The scope of this assistance will be outlined to you during the Management Training Program.
